Ergonomic Design

The unique TQi design features precise balance and a natural feel, with an ample grip area and molded-in thumb rest for total comfort, even during all-day driving sessions. The wide throttle trigger and foam steering wheel provide comfortable, precise control. The four-channel transmitter features a rocker switch placed for easy thumb access, and a 3-position switch positioned next to the wheel. The TQi 2.4GHz transmitter uses just four AA batteries, saving weight and money.

Simple 2-Button Interface

All of the TQi 2.4GHz radio system's advanced functions are selected and adjusted using a simple 2-button interface. MENU and SET are all you need to navigate to the functions you wish to adjust, and the Status LED confirms each selection. Traxxas' advanced electronics give experienced drivers pro-level adjustability, without compromising simple operation when it's time to play and have fun.

Multi-Function Knob

The Multi-Function knob is key to the transmitter's adjustability. By using the MENU and SET buttons or the Traxxas Link App, a variety or performance parameters can be assigned to the Multi-Function knob for easy, on-the-fly adjustment. From the factory, the Multi-Function knob controls steering sensitivity, also known as exponential or "expo." The Multi-Function knob can also be set to control Throttle Sensitivity (Expo), Steering Percentage (Dual Rate), Braking Percentage (Dual Rate), and Throttle Trim. The Multi-Function knob can also be locked to prevent unwanted setting changes.

Accelerate Faster/Corner Faster/Brake Harder/Stay in Control

Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) allows you to experience all the extreme power, speed, and acceleration that was engineered into your Traxxas model by making it much easier to control the vehicle on common slippery surfaces such as loose dirt, smooth concrete, and even ice and snow. Punch it off the line and TSM goes to work sensing the vehicle’s direction and making steering corrections to provide straight-ahead full-throttle acceleration without fishtailing, spinouts, and loss of control. TSM also works during cornering, first making intuitive corrections to maintain your line, and then allowing you to hammer the throttle earlier in the turn for much faster exit speeds. Braking is dramatically improved as TSM works to keep you arrow straight until you come to a complete stop. 

Traxxas TSM gives you all the benefits modern electronic stabilization has to offer without intruding on your driving fun or introducing unexpected side effects that can be found on other systems such as drastically reduced turning radius, braking assistance that times out (quits), throttle restrictions, and an overall disconnected driving feel. Traxxas engineers developed superior tuning algorithms that run on high-speed, precision electronic components to create a system that works invisibly, in the background, without ever limiting your throttle. TSM can be fine tuned (or turned off) for different surfaces by simply adjusting the multi-function knob on the TQi transmitter, or by adjusting the slider in the Traxxas link app. The result is that you are driving faster, with more ease, and having more fun. In fact, you may not even realize how much TSM is helping you until you turn it off and test your driving skills without it!

Plug-In Telemetry Sensors and Expander Module

TQi makes it easy to add telemetry capability to any Traxxas model when you equip the transmitter with the Traxxas Link Wireless Module and install Traxxas Link on your iOS device. TQi's included 5-channel receiver features ports for Voltage/Temperature and RPM sensors. A third port accepts the Telemetry Expander Module that allows up to 6 additional sensors to be added. There's even a GPS Module for satellite-measured speed (sensors, expander, and GPS module each sold separately). Sensor-ready gear covers or motor mounts custom-fit for your Traxxas vehicle install easily to precisely position the sensors for accurate detection of the "trigger magnets" built into the spur gear or flywheel required for your model. Just install the telemetry components and you're ready to go! The Traxxas Link application automatically detects the sensors installed in the receiver. Go to Telemetry Setup in the Traxxas Link application and touch Sync Now, and TQi automatically detects the sensors installed in the Expander Module. Only Traxxas makes telemetry so easy to install, view, and enjoy.

Steering and Throttle Sensitivity (Expo)

The TQi 2.4GHz transmitter's Multi-Function knob can be programmed to control Steering and Throttle Sensitivity, also known as exponential. This is a powerful tuning aid that can help tame a "loose" track, improve throttle control, and help you turn faster, more consistent laps. When set for minimum sensitivity (zero exponential), steering or throttle response is linear: the steering or throttle response will correspond exactly with the input from the transmitter's steering wheel. Turning the Multi-Function knob clockwise will result in "negative exponential" and decrease steering or throttle sensitivity by making the servo less responsive near neutral, with increasing sensitivity as the servo nears the limits of its travel range. The farther you turn the knob, the more pronounced the change in steering servo movement will be. The term "exponential" comes from this effect; the servo's travel changes exponentially relative to the input from the steering wheel. The exponential effect is indicated as a percentage—the greater the percentage, the greater the effect.

Steering and Braking Dual Rate

The Multi-Function knob can be set to control the amount (percentage) of servo travel applied to steering. Turning the Multi-Function knob fully clockwise will deliver maximum steering throw; turning the knob counter-clockwise reduces steering throw. Many racers set Dual Rate so they have only as much steering throw as they need for the track's tightest turn, thus making the vehicle easier to drive throughout the rest of the course. Reducing steering throw can also be useful in making a vehicle easier to control on high-traction surfaces, and limiting steering output for oval racing where large amounts of steering travel are not required.

The Multi-Function knob may also be set to control the amount of brake travel applied by the servo in a nitro-powered model. Electric models do not have a servo-operated brake, but the Braking Percentage function still operates the same way in electric models. Turning the Multi-Function knob full clockwise will deliver maximum brake throw; turning the knob counter-clockwise reduces brake throw. This is a very useful feature for preventing spin-outs due to brake lock-up on slick tracks; just dial out unwanted brake travel for more precise control.

Steering and Throttle End Points

The TQi 2.4GHz transmitter allows you to choose the limit of the servo's travel range (or its "end point") independently for left and right travel (on the steering channel) and throttle/brake travel (on the throttle channel). This allows you to fine-tune the servo settings to prevent binding caused by the servo moving steering or throttle linkages (in the case of a nitro car) farther than their mechanical limits. The end point adjustment settings you select will represent what you wish to be the servo's maximum travel; the Steering Percentage or Braking Percentage functions will not override the End Point settings.

Steering and Throttle Sub-Trim

The Sub-Trim function is used to precisely set the neutral point of the steering or throttle servo in the event that simply setting the trim knob to "zero" does not completely center the servo. When selected, Sub-Trim allows finer adjustment to the servo output shaft's position for precise setting of the neutral point. This is particularly useful for high-speed vehicles such as the Nitro 4-Tec 3.3, Jato 3.3, and VXL/Castle brushless models that require laser-straight tracking when the steering wheel is at neutral.

Operates On Just 4 AA Batteries

The TQi 2.4GHz transmitter requires only four AA alkaline batteries to deliver premium long-range control. That saves money, and reduces the weight of the transmitter for all-day driving comfort. The Traxxas Link Wireless Module is powered by the transmitter batteries and is integrated into the transmitter body to further save weight and provide maximum efficiency.

Reverse a servo direction, set servo end points, or fine tune the steering rate or braking percentage with just a few taps of the screen.

3. Program the Multi-Function knob on your transmitter
The TQi's Multi-Function knob can be programmed to perform a variety of different functions, such as fine tuning your steering or throttle sensitivity on the fly.

4. Store, view, and manage settings for all your Traxxas vehicles
Your custom settings are recalled automatically for up to 30 models when you power on the vehicle and transmitter. There's no need to fumble with crude interfaces that require you to find and select which vehicle you want to run.

How does it Work?
Traxxas Stability Management comes standard in many Traxxas vehicles. TQi transmitters updated with the latest firmware allow you to adjust the amount of assistance provided by TSM using the Multi-Function knob. More assistance tightens the control, virtually eliminating fishtailing and sliding. Less assistance allows the vehicle to be more loose for controlled power slides and “steering” with the throttle. TSM never restricts throttle input. The driver always has complete control of the power. TSM can easily be turned off by simply turning the multi-function knob counterclockwise to its stop. TSM can also be adjusted in the Traxxas Link application. The control icon is in the “Garage” in Traxxas Link and also the Drive Effects screen. Each model has a specific software load, custom tuned to the model. Traxxas Link remembers TSM setting when the driver uses the same transmitter and switches between various models equipped with TSM.

Traxxas Link makes it easy to learn, understand, and access the powerful tuning options built into every Traxxas TQi radio system. Control your Drive Effect settings such as steering and throttle sensitivity; steering percentage; braking strength; and throttle trim by simply touching and dragging the sliders on the screen, or enabling the Multi-Function knob on the transmitter. With Traxxas Link, everything happens live, on-the-fly, giving you instant feedback on the changes you are making. Once you have created the perfect control settings for your model, save them as a profile that you can restore later, use on another model, or share with friends. If the track conditions change, simply re-tune your Drive Effects and save them as new profile.

Traxxas Link collects and records real-time telemetry data as you drive. When you equip your model with sensors, the Traxxas Link dashboard comes to life showing you speed, battery voltage, RPM, and temperature. The application automatically detects and recognizes Traxxas Link sensors for easy set up and configuration. The dashboard is fully customizable with either dial or digital readout gauges. Set threshold warnings and log maximums, minimums, or averages. Use the recording function to document your dashboard view, with sound, so that you can keep your eyes on your driving and not miss a single apex. If you forget to record, simply touch Instant Replay anytime to capture the previous minute of fun and unexpected triumphs. The recordings can be named and saved to compare, review, and share with friends.

The Model Configuration settings provide a beautifully simple, visual interface to fine tune servo adjustments such as sub-trims, endpoints, and servo reversing. Choose your servo by touching the channel icon. Model Setups can be customized to adjust for vehicle modifications such as changing the pinion gear or installing different tires. Just select the modifications from the list. Traxxas Link also gives you instant access to Training Mode, and even includes an adjustment to set how fast the model can drive in Training Mode. It's perfect when you want to quickly and easily share your vehicle with a driver that is not yet ready to experience the full top speed your vehicle is capable of.

Traxxas Link simplifies organization of your vehicle collection. The TQi radio system automatically keeps track of what vehicles it has bound to and what settings were used for each. Traxxas Link provides a visual interface to see the transmitter's model history, name the models, customize their settings, attach profiles, and lock them into memory. With Traxxas Link and the TQi radio system, there's never a need to try and remember which model in memory needs to be selected to drive. Simply choose a model and any previously bound transmitter, power them up, and start having fun. Traxxas Link recognizes the model and picks everything up right where you left off. An unlimited number of vehicles can be permanently stored. The factory settings for all Traxxas models are pre programmed so adding a new Traxxas model to your transmitter is a snap. Traxxas models factory equipped with TQi Traxxas Link receivers are detected and configured automatically.

Device Requirements
Traxxas Link is designed for use with Android 4.4 and up or iOS 4.3 and later. Traxxas Link is compatible with Android equipped devices, iPhone (4S, 5, 5C, 5S), iPod touch (5th generation and later versions), iPad (3rd generation and later versions), or iPad mini. For full functionality, Traxxas Link requires a Traxxas TQi transmitter with Traxxas Link Wireless Module and a TQi receiver installed in the model. Telemetry functions require Traxxas telemetry sensors to be installed on your model.
